Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ] at Parks Therapy Centre

QuestionAnswer
What should I wear for treatment? Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes. The therapist will need to see the affected area, so if you have a knee problem, it may be useful to bring a pair of shorts. We may also use a treadmill, so you may need to bring trainers and orthotics if you have them.
How long do treatments last? Physiotherapy and Acupuncture assessments take 45 minutes - follow-up treatments may be either 30 or 45 minutes, depending on the condition being treated. Homeopathy takes longer - initial assessments may last 2 hours and follow-ups 1 hour, though less time is needed for children. Counselling and Clinical Psychology appointments usually last one hour. Chiropody usually takes 30 minutes. Appointment times are only a guide. Your therapist may complete the treatment in less than the allocated time, but this does not mean that you have not had the correct treatment. Similarly, if your therapist feels that more time is essential, you will receive that extra time, even if this occasionally delays other appointments.
What qualifications do the therapists have? All Parks practitioners are appropriately professionally qualified. Our Physiotherapists are all Chartered and both they and our Chiropodists are registered with the Health Professions Council [HPC]. Our other practitioners are all members of the appropriate professional body and all maintain their knowledge with regular training and continuing professional development [CPD] courses.
What happens if I can't attend my appointment? We do ask patients to give as much notice as possible if they are unable to attend an appointment. We have an answerphone, if you need to call us out of clinic hours. We will be very understanding, if a genuine problem has arisen, but we do reserve the right to make a charge if 24 hours notice is not given.
Why don't the menus work? The site uses active scripting to drive the menus. In Internet Explorer, go to "Tools," "Internet Options" then "Security". Medium security should work OK, but click on "Custom Level" and scroll down until you can see the scripting heading. Check that scripting is "Enabled", or at the least is set to "Prompt".
Why can't I view Adobe Acrobat Files? Firstly, you must have the Adobe Acrobat reader installed. If you've not got it, download the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Some browser security settings prevent viewing of Acrobat files. To work round this, right click on the item in question, then from the menu select 'Save Target As...'. Enter a filename of your choice and 'Save' the item to your hard drive. Please use a filename you can remember and save it somewhere that you can remember also!
What is an Adobe Acrobat [PDF] file? A PDF file is a document for which you need a reader available from Adobe.
