Alison registered with the Society of Homeopaths after completing her 4 year Licentiate in Homeopathy with the London School of Classical Homeopathy. Since qualifying she has been awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Homeopathic Materia Medica and Therapeutics including Oncology with Dr A O Ramakrishnan, author of "A Homeopathic Approach to Cancer" and is now about to start the second year of a postgraduate course in Classical Homeopathy with Jeremy Sherr at the Dynamis School.,/p>
Alison first became interested in homeopathy when her youngest daughter was diagnosed with asthma which was only controlled by daily medication. The search for a safe long term solution led to successful homeopathic treatment. Alison began studying the philosophy and principles of homeopathy and has used it successfully for friends and family for 15 years before undertaking formal training.
Alison originally trained as a solicitor specialising in serious personal injury and clinical negligence. She became fascinated as to why some people would have severe pain following accidents, where little damage could be seen on x ray, and others had little pain but a lot of degenerative change. The pain was real but it could not be easily explained. Therefore there had to be other reasons outside the original injury and a mind/body connection was a likely explanation. Homeopathy is a system of medicine which treats the whole person i.e. mind and body. The medicines stimulate the body's natural defence system to heal itself. They are safe and not addictive. The change of career to become a licensed homeopath was a logical step.
