Dr Amanda Spong, D Clin Psy

Amanda SpongDr Amanda Spong trained as a clinical Psychologist by completing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of East Anglia in 2000, after completing a three year Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She has worked for the past seven years in the area of adult mental health within the NHS.

Amanda applies both cognitive behavioural and cognitive analytic therapy models [CBT and CAT] in her clinical practice. She has experience of working with a range of mental health difficulties, particularly depression and anxiety disorders. Her special interests include the impact of early trauma on the development of personality, as well as areas of health psychology, and peri-natal psychology. Health Psychology is the practice and application of psychological research into behaviour relevant to health, illness and healthcare. Peri-natal psychology involves the application of psychological research and models to the mother and child in both the pre and post-natal period.

Amanda is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a member of the British Psychological Society [BPS] and she adheres to their code of practice.
