Marian George, BA MA MBACP

Marian GeorgeMarian studied at the Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge for a BA degree in Sociology and Politics and an MA in Women's studies. In 1998 she completed a diploma in Counselling at The Huntingdonshire Regional College and in 2004 a certificate in supervision and mentoring skills. She has also completed an introductory training in Psychosexual Counselling.

In the past Marian has worked part-time with mental health service users and is currently taking referrals from two Employment Assistance Providers. She also works as a supervisor for other counsellors.

Marian draws on humanist, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural models to suit the needs of the patient. A key element of her work is helping both men and women to get in touch with their identity. She is able to provide deep and long-term therapy if required but also to work within a shorter time span in order to access possible life or behavioural changes which the client might wish to put in place, using solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioural methods.

Marian is a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and works within their code of Ethics.
