Self-hypnosis is a technique that you can use yourself to supplement your hypnotherapy with Clare Hargreaves at Parks.
Find a little time and a place, preferably where you will not be disturbed. Make yourself comfortable and tell yourself that you are going to do your self-hypnosis for an agreed amount of time.
Take in a long slow deep breath. Hold for the mental count of four and as you exhale, just allow your eyes to close gently. Start silently and mentally counting from 1 to 10, counting on each number and on the outbreath. Between each number, also on the outbreath, say "deeper relaxed" so it goes
one__deeper relaxed__two__deeper relaxed__three__deeper relaxed..... - and so on.
By the time you reach the number 10, see if you want to go deeper. If you do, use any of the following suggestions: -
When you are in a comfortable level of trance, give yourself positive suggestions. Give each suggestion at least ten times using your hands to count
Emerge silently and mentally by counting from 10 to 1 and by opening your eyes. Give yourself suggestions that you will emerge full of confidence, energy, vitality for the rest that you have had - feeling marvellous and fantastic in every way!
We have 90,000 thoughts per day - 60,000 were the same as yesterday - self-hypnosis can be an incredibly powerful tool once mastered
